Raised Dog Bowls

The little things we do for our fur-loves that come with some real health benefits.

I have always been a fan of raised bowls. Here’s why:

• Raised feeders provide ease of access to food and water which can help facilitate movement and better digestion when traveling from the mouth (esophagus) to the stomach against gravity.

• Comfort. Places less strain on the dog's neck, hips, shoulders and joints. Particularly for seniors and dogs with mobility issues, stiff arthritic joints, having to bend over to eat and drink constantly can be painful.

• Easier to keep the feeding area clean and dry. Some dogs also like to scoot their bowls across the floor with their nose or may run into them when playing in the house.

• Dogs who are known to eat fast can benefit from an elevated bowl. This can slow them down when eating for the simple fact they have to eat at a more upright position. Slow feeder bowls are also great to use with dogs who tend to eat very fast.

However way you choose to serve your pups, always ensure fresh filtered water is available at reach and if feeding a raw diet, bowls are washed with soap and hot water after every use.
